[ Appearance ] – Greed Greed 1 True Form
Looking considerably younger than what his age would really suggest; Greed has a normal build for someone who looks twenty-one but he also has the visible muscle that comes with being an artificial human. His face is thin and this is exentuated by his hair which is black and usually styled into tousled spikes, were it not for this and his lightly tanned skin he would most likely be capable of passing for being even younger.
He has quite small features; his eyes are narrow and harsh but are normally concealed behind a pair of small, circular sunglasses with a black tint so it is impossible to see them through the lenses; he wears these at all times including at night but behind the dark lenses his eyes are purple and his pupils are distorted and appear reptilian or cat-like. In contrast to these features, his mouth is normally twisted upwards in a manic grin, exposing sharp shark-like teeth.
Greed’s Ourobouros tattoo is on his left hand, symbolising his avarice and his need to take things. When he is out of uniform he prefers to wear tight-fitting black leather pants and a leather vest jacket in the same colour with a white fur collar. He uses his own carbon shield to mimic the appearance of a skin-tight vest top which leaves the two red circles and the connecting red lines visible. He wears multiple, studded wristbands on both wrists.
His ‘true form’ is demonic-looking. He assumes this form when his carbon shield takes over his entire body. Whilst in this form more of the red, alchemic nodes are visible and include two on his chest, the same two just above his hips front and back and one in the centre of his back, these are all linked with thin, red lines that link to each of the nodes and run over his head to cross over through the node in the middle of his back in an X formation. Whilst in his carbon form his eyes turn blood red but the violet iris remains, he loses his hair, his hands become more claw-like and his spine is clearly visible jutting out of his back. The most stark feature are the animalistic fangs that stand out against his dark skin.
In this form, his Ourobouros is not visible.
[ Personality ] – A self-confessed ‘greedy bastard’, he unashamedly lives up to his namesake by selfishly seeking his own beliefs and desires above the needs of others. He carries himself as a slick individual and regularly flirts with members of both sexes and is an all-round arrogant man who looks down upon people, including other Homunculi. Despite all of this he also has morals and a weak sense of right and wrong; in general he is laid back and calm to the point where he will engage in pointless chit-chat with anyone who just happens to walk by.
His work etiquette his questionable. He has an immense devotion to pursuing his avarice but easily gets distracted by opportunities to slack off and socialise but he is also incredibly optimistic which pushes him forward towards his goal of obtaining Eternal Life and indeed one of his favourite phrases is ‘There’s no such thing as no such thing’ (anything is possible). This lazy optimism conflicts and his desire for a social life seem to conflict with the more negative aspects of his personality so overall he is a fairly amicable man; but he is not above going to extreme lengths to get what he wants.
[ History ] – The second Homunculus, Greed was created in a failed human transmutation conducted by Dante just over two-hundred years ago. At first he maintained his loyalty to her as he was weak and dependant on her care in order to survive but as he became stronger and his avarice became more unquenchable he soon began to disobey orders before finally abandoning his creator completely to strike out by himself; for as long as he remained with Dante his avarice would never be truly satisfied. As he turned against her, he also turned against the other Homunculi and quickly developed a strong, bitter rivalry with them.
Greed was captured and sealed in the basement of Laboratory Five by Envy, Pride and Dante who used the skull of the man he had been created from in order to paralyse him and effectively trap him but 140 years later the seal was disturbed when a number of fights broke out on the upper floors of the building, effectively freeing him from his eternal prison. Though as he was still in a weakened state he decided to put his pursuit of his avarice on hold and set about scouring the laboratory for something that he could utilize against his enemies. He failed to discover any weapons but he did come across a section of the lab where a number of human-Chimera experiments were being held captive. He struck up a deal with them and released them from their prison, effectively upping his manpower from one to seven.
Setting up a base of some sorts within the Devil’s Nest bar; Greed indulged in his avarice and began to plot a course of action to take against Dante and the other Homunculi of whose numbers he was now unaware of. It was during this time that rumours of the Elric brothers reached him and he took particular interest in Alphonse who at the time was a soul in a suit of armour, going as far as kidnapping him and holding him hostage in the basement of the Devil’s Nest he began to press him for information about alchemy and in particular, soul transmutation in order to obtain eternal life as whilst a Homunculus cannot be killed by conventional means, regeneration wears down the Philosophers Stone within them though he failed to gather this information as the Nest was ambushed by the State Military after an anonymous tipoff.
It was rumoured that in his human life, Greed was madly in love with Dante and that she was responsible for his death. Although Greed himself has no memories of a life before his own and believes that he has always been a Homunculus with the sole desire to be his own master, there is something engrained within him that caused him to rebel against her and in the process, untangle her web of lies that kept the others loyal.
Now following rumours, Greed has enrolled himself at Dusk Academy in order to discover the true secrets of eternal life but for a man who has whole-heartedly thrown himself into personifying his own ‘sin’ even eternal life will never be enough.

[ Other ? ] – Being a Homunculus (also known as an artificial human), Greed is naturally stronger than the average human and his regenerative powers enable him to survive serious injury including decapitation; in fact he seems to almost enjoy showing this off though he prefers to maintain an air of class about him in the process.
Greed is nicknamed ‘The Ultimate Shield’ because of his ability to replace his skin with thick carbon which acts as the perfect defence so even though he has regenerative abilities he doesn’t necessarily have to use them.
A Homunculus has two main weaknesses, the first being that they cannot come into close contact with the remains of the person they were created in the image of, this is because their entire existence is based upon something that is fake and when confronted by the real thing a Homunculus becomes paralysed.
The second weakness is to an alchemic transmutation circle known as the Flamel Array. This complex piece of alchemy has the capabilities of stripping a Homunculus of their power (the Philosophers Stone) and enables them to be killed by a conventional weapon.
Greed however has a third weakness, it takes him time to cover his body with the carbon substance and if parts of the shield are destroyed it takes him several minutes to reform it, leaving muscles and tendons that are normally protected by skin fully exposed to the elements and any weapons in the vicinity.
